The final three images are a small glimpse into the experimentation that was executed with after effects. I wanted to see how these works could be presented as a collective online.I chose to present them vertically to give each aspect it’s own visual identity while being projected in the class. I’ve made the navigation simple. The user clicks on the image they’d like to see and it blows it up to the center of the page and includes the title at the bottom. The remaining images are at a smaller size with a lower opacity. This project gave me a different outlook on personal space and how it can affected by the people around you. I took a mini photo series taken with 35&#160;mm film to give it a nostalgic feel and to capture sincere moments among the people around me that i love and that inspire me. I created 4 videos to accompany these photos to bring them to life. One of the videos displayed is a comedic commercial that took part in creating one of the photos I chose as my final pieces. The idea of taking data and information that is publicly available to tell stories and explore appealing topics such as love, relationships and the similarities between humans is a perfect example of new age meaningful art in the world of new media and interactivity. <em><br/></em>Harris begins his talk by discussing his infatuation with people and the similarities that everyone shares regardless of all the “gaps” separating us apart including: age, gender, language and ethnicity. This is a topic and realization that has greatly interested me since I returned from traveling around Europe and was exposed to a large variety of people within these gaps. He than proceeds to talk about peoples need for self expression and how over the years as technology has developed so has the self expression and most people have the option and desire to publicize these expressions on social networking and blog style websites. <em>We Feel Fine </em>targets the phrases “I feel” and “I’m feeling” and records the whole sentence and categorizes the feeling being expressed in the sentence. <br/></span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">With all of the data and knowledge that is stored it leaves the user to be able to ask specific questions about many different demographics and receive an accurate portray of those questions. The majority of these sentences have traces of the geography, sex and age of the author which makes sorting through the information that much more appealing and useful. The interface of this project is very clever as it self organizes it’s self with different coloured bubbles to represent the people involved in the project. Once you click on a particle you can read the whole sentence. This project brings people together into a web of similarities and show cases the triumphs and tragedies that affect people around the world in a successful interactive manner. Jonathon Harris has a charming way of using data and available information to create fascinating interactive works.
